Day 3 of Giftmas, and it's all about books.
Buying books can be a bit of a tricky one, but I LOVE recommending books and gifting them to friends and family, as much as I love reading them. For me, 2020 has been a big book year for me (I've had a lot of time on my hands) and as I type up this Christmas Gift Guide series, I am currently reading my way through my 31st book of the year. That's for another post though, as you bet I'll be writing up about them separately.
There are a few friends and family members I, without fail, will buy a book or two at Christmas for, and always write a little note inside the front cover. I find this to be such a thoughtful gift idea, and cost effective.
This gift guide was a tricky one, as it was hard to narrow down my favourites! However, this guide doesn't just include books I've read - I've also added a few that came as recommendations too, and included a few cookbooks, which may come in handy for tomorrow's gift guide...
You will notice, that all the links for the books below take you to Bookshop.org I wanted to support local, independent businesses as much as possible throughout this gift guide series, and this website is an online bookshop with a mission to financially support local, independent bookshops.
Due to the current climate, we physically can't walk in to our local bookshops to pick up our next read - we have to order online. So this website allows us to have an easy, convenient way to buy our books and support local bookshops at the same time - what's amazing about it, is that if you want to support a specific local bookshop, you can find them on the map provided, and that bookshop will receive the full profit from your order. Otherwise, your order will contribute to an earnings pool that will be evenly distributed among independent bookshops. Either way, you're helping, so get clicking!
Day 2 of Giftmas, and today is all about Christmas gifts for under £20. Whether you’re shopping for your BFF, or a colleague's name you've picked out of a hat for the usual office secret Santa- hopefully this post will give you a few ideas!
From the creative, to the most random (yes, Gin Mayo is actually a thing) there is something for everyone. Personally, I'm loving the Sighh x The Insecure Girls' Club collaboration which launched last week - everything is super cute, but I especially love the mirror decals - check the rest of the collection out here, and treat yourself.
For those that love a bit of a giggle, I suggest buying someone who has a dog the Trump dog toy (there is also a Boris one too!), and for someone stylish, you can't go wrong with a reusable tote from Baggu - the metallic one is a favourite.
I used to love doing these posts, and I know it helped me pick out gifts for my nearest and dearest, so I’m bringing them back with a long series - that’s right, a whole TEN DAYS of Christmas gift guides (lets call it GIFTMAS)
I have put my Elf outfit on, and delved into the world wide WebSphere to find some Christmas gift ideas for you lovely lot!
First up, and I think the most important gift guide of them all, one that features a whole load of pretty things from Small businesses.
More so than ever small independent businesses and traders need our support, so please try and shop small this Christmas when possible. Across the next 10 days, I will also be featuring some small businesses in my other gift guides, so keep an eye out.
As a Brighton born and bred gal, I've included a fair few local businesses, but, if you're not from around here, fret not - they offer shipping!
Go forth and browse....There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to TREAT YO’ SELF (you deserve it!!), or you’re ready to start your Christmas shopping. This is where it’s at...
