Beauty travel essentials by What Laura did Next
Travelling light really doesn’t come naturally to me (I once took 6 pairs of shoes on a 3-day trip) but one thing I really don’t like having to do, is carry around my full sized beauty products when I’m going away – they’re heavy and when there’s a strict baggage allowance it can prove very stressful when I’m at check in and having to put my luggage on the scales.

I love a miniature version of a product – I’m literally that person who will bring home the mini jars of ketchup and Nutella! When it comes to travel beauty products, size matters to me a helluva lot - above are my essential beauty products for when I'm away.

Here are a few tips on all things beauty travel.
  • For when I need to decant some of my full-sized beauty items, I head to Muji where they have a great selection of travel accessories and at a great price too. The tubes above are perfect for shampoo and conditioner, and the pots play home to my moisturiser and cleanser.
  • Beauty samples are the best for travelling - I tend to keep hold of little tubes of handcream and moisturisers that tend to come in gift bags at beauty events as they are great for this sort of thing.
  • If you can, pop along to your local Boots or Superdrug where you're sure to find your essentials in miniature form - the Venus Snap Razor has to be one of the best inventions ever! They also tend to run a 3 for 2 offer across their travel selection, which is very handy.
  • If I can, I try to cut corners when travelling, so these cleansing cotton buds are perfect as they come already soaked in cleanser and are great if you have a mascara/eyeliner/lipstick drama!
There you have it, I hope this helps in one way or another!
